I Phura Geljen Sherpa born in the mountainous region of Pangum which is a major trekking route belong to a Sherpa family. Most of my family was involved in mountaineering and trekking which had a huge influence in my childhood. This increased my interest in this profession and provided me with numerous opportunities to work with my father as an assistant Sherpa in various treks in the Nepal’s Himalaya. I have since been involved in trekking and mountaineering profession for the past 10 years.
Since starting training from 2001 and successfully covering over 8000 meters mountains with various clients from different countries, I am now associated with numerous trekking organizations as a mountain guide.
I've completed Aspirant Guide Training on 2009/10 fromNepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) under the supervision ofInternational Federation of Mountain Guide Association (IFMGA)
I've Completed Mountain Guide Training on 2011from Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) under the supervision ofInternational Federation of Mountain Guide Association (IFMGA).
Climbing and guiding experience:
In my history of mountaineering I have successfully summit Mt. Everest for 5 times(2007,08,10,11,12,13), Kanchanjunga (worlds 3rd hightest peak), Cho oyu, Sishapangma, Amadablam, Mera peak, Island peak, Lobuche peak, Pharchamo and many other 6000 meter peaks of Nepal.
Currently I am involved in various adventure companies in Nepal.
